4″ drywall knife
Drywall bucket scoop

Materials:
Premium 10 year sealer- 3 5-gal buckets for a “four car driveway”
Joint sealer- 1 gal for every 5″ wide strip across the driveway
Goof Off (or xylene)
Rags
To Start:
Set up cones.

Wear knee pads and rubber gloves.

Sweep the driveway. Wash oil spills with degreaser. Let it dry. Blow off dust and leaves.

Seal any cracks and joints with 60 minute joint sealer.

Start in the corner.

Pull the broom across along the wall.
Pull the broom out from the wall.
Use the squeegee to smooth the surface out from the wall. This will leave a smooth filled surface.
Use the broom to taper the edge.
Do the other far corner of the wall. Use a putty knife to edge around detailed corners.

Move to the right (if you are right-handed) along the wall.
Work in approximately 8 ft squares to make an 8 ft swath and back out to the mouth of the driveway.
REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR SQUEEGEE STROKES RUNNING IN ONE DIRECTION, AND COVER ANY FEATHER BRUSHING WITH FOLLOWING SWATH STROKES.
You can use a bucket lid or two (with the tar side down) as a stepping stone for reaching in to the sealed area.
KEEP YOUR SHOES SPOTLESSLY CLEAN
CLEAN UP SPOTS WITH XYLENE OR GOOF OFF AND A RAG
If there is a WYE, stop your swath even with the wye and do the other leg of the wye,
Then continue out to the mouth of the driveway.

Tie caution tape across the mouth of the driveway.
No foot traffic for 2 hours, and no car traffic for 48 hours for best results.
